Working as an effective and motivated senior team player on an Agile team, helping the team to commit to and effectively deliver its objectives
Effective Technical Communication with local and remote teams, including early notification of progress or delays and any needed rectification steps related to delivery or quality issues together with engineering lead(s)
Design and coding of project deliverables
Reviewing and updating Technical Specifications documents
Mentoring and assisting junior team members in producing code, designs and implementation plans
Testing of code and quality assurance of system
Resolving and troubleshooting issues relating to the integration of project deliverables
Reviewing to code ensuring standards and procedures are followed

Knowledge, Skills and Education

Strong Java or .NET knowledge
- 4+ years Java, Java EE experience, or .NET experience
- Knowledge of patterns, core libraries and frameworks
- Object-Oriented Analysis, Design and Implementation skills
- 4+ years experience with Oracle SQL preferred, or general Transact-SQL experience
Demonstrably strong skills in Integration technologies …
Specialize in writing programs that cater to many types of third party communication including:
Flat files
File parsing
Familiarity with many file formats: ASCII, BCD, etc.
XSLT Transformation
File filtering
Creating file wrappers etc.,
Working with existing (or writing new) File watcher apps
Windows services that run schedulable events
Experienced and comfortable with
- Leading in an Agile environment (we use JIRA)
- Current Windows and Linux experience (e.g., Bash)
Senior Technical skillset
- Stellar software development skills
- Strong troubleshooting, tracing and debugging skills,
- Experienced and happy to mentor on TDD, JUnit if experienced in Java or equivalent unit testing with .Net, Mocking frameworks
- Experience with requirements-management, backlog grooming and leading the development, review and subsequent implementation to technical specifications
- Experience mentoring junior team members, able to guide, teach and do
Degree in Software Engineering or similar
Utilities or Telecommunications Billing knowledge is desirable
