The Finance Business Partner – Technology (TEC) acts as a strategic finance advisor to the TEC business, providing financial insights, performance analysis, and decision support to drive profitable growth, cash discipline, and operational efficiency.

 

This role bridges finance and business, supporting management with forward-looking analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring, while ensuring strong financial governance and compliance.

1. Business Partnering & Decision Support

  • Partner closely with TEC Business Heads, Sales, and Operations teams to support commercial and operational decisions with robust financial analysis.
  • Provide profitability analysis by customer, product, and project, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Support pricing decisions, commercial terms, and business cases through scenario and sensitivity analysis.
  • Partner with Operations to optimize inventory levels, provisions, and working capital efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyse cost drivers, supporting cost control initiatives and margin improvement programs.
  • Establish long-term relationships with potential clients/customers with the view to enhance business opportunities.

 

2. Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead and coordinate the annual budget, periodic forecasts, and long-range planning for TEC.
  • Prepare insightful variance analysis vs. budget, forecast, and prior year, with clear business-oriented commentary.
  • Support management in identifying corrective actions to achieve financial targets.

 

 

3. Performance Management & Reporting

  • Prepare and review monthly management reports, dashboards, and business review materials.
  • Monitor key KPIs including Net Sales, Gross Profit, EBIT, Working Capital, inventory turns, and margin trends.
  • Translate financial results into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.
  • Partner with Operations to optimize inventory levels, provisions, and working capital efficiency.

 

4. Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Identify process inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance and business processes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Commercial, Operations, and Group Finance teams to deliver integrated solutions.

 

Leadership Responsibilities:

Self-starter in learning and understanding TEC business unit and the value drivers by business lines. External focus, actively engage with customers and clients together with business line managers on negotiation of new business opportunities and risk mitigations efforts.

Strategic & Thought Leadership - Act as a trusted finance advisor to TEC leadership, providing objective, independent financial perspectives to support strategic and operational decision-making.

Stakeholder & Influencing Leadership - Build strong, effective relationships with TEC management, Sales, Operations, and Group Finance. Influence decision-making without authority through credible analysis, clear communication, and confident recommendations. Serve as the key finance representative in cross-functional forums, governance meetings, and business reviews.

Functional skills and knowledge:

  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking
  • Advanced financial analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to challenge, influence, and support business leaders constructively
  • Strong knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and performance management
  • Solid understanding of working capital, inventory, and cost structures.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and reporting tools (e.g., SAP, Power BI, Excel).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • High level of integrity, ownership, and attention to detail

 

Education:

  • Degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.

 

Work experience

  • Minimum 5 experience in a finance, management accounting, or business partnering (experience in distribution, technology, or B2B environment is an advantage).
