Applied AI Engineer - Retail
The Applied AI Engineer – Retail is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying machine learning models that address business-critical use cases in ecommerce retail. This role bridges advanced analytics with real-world impact, ensuring AI models directly support operational efficiency, sales optimization, and strategic decision-making. The position focuses on solving real-world problems such as sales forecasting, inventory optimization, recommendation systems, and business performance enhancement across retail and marketing domains.
Trách nhiệm công việc
1. Model Development & Optimization (40%)
- Build predictive models (e.g., time-series forecasting, classification, regression) for retail-specific use cases: sales trends, demand prediction, churn, customer segmentation, pricing.
- Develop optimization models for inventory, allocation, and supply chain
- Design and implement financial models to support revenue forecasting, cost prediction, and profitability analysis
- Build models to optimize digital marketing performance such as ROAS prediction, audience segmentation, marketing attribution, and bid strategy recommendation
- Evaluate model performance, iterate for continuous improvement using offline and live A/B testing
2. Deployment & Integration (30%)
- Package models as APIs or batch jobs and deploy into production environments
- Monitor model drift, retrain cycles, and performance metrics
- Collaborate with AI PM and DevOps to align integration with business systems
3. Collaboration & Communication (30%)
- Translate business problems into structured AI/ML projects
- Present findings and explain models in a clear and actionable way to business stakeholders
- Collaborate closely with BI and DA teams to validate input data and cross-check insight outcomes
- Work with Data Engineers to ensure data pipelines support model needs

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Applied Math, Computer Science, or related technical field
3. Knowledge
- Knowledge of A/B testing design and experiment tracking.
- Good SQL skills and ability to query large datasets from data warehouses.
- Knowledge of statistics.
4. Foreign language: English communication
5. Experience:
- 2–4 years of experience building and deploying AI/ML models in retail, e-commerce, finance, supply chain or digital marketing domains.
- Strong knowledge of applied ML algorithms: tree-based models, regressors/classifiers, clustering, Prophet, time-series decomposition.
- Hands-on experience with Python, Scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, Pandas, MLflow
- Familiarity with production-level model deployment using FastAPI, Flask, or batch frameworks (e.g., Airflow)
- Familiarity with MLOps principles, Docker, and model monitoring tools
- Experience with forecasting libraries such as: TimesFM, Facebook Prophet, Statsmodels, NeuralProphet…
- Experience with optimizing libraries such as: Google OR-Tools, SciPy, CVXPY, and Pyomo.

- Experience in cross-border e-commerce is a strong advantage.
