We need a Front-end Developer who is fast and understands in the ins-and-outs web performance, page optimization, and page load speeds.

An exciting and challenging position exists as a Front-end Developer in DFO’s global office. We are looking for someone who is passionate about what they do and enjoys working with a small team to create meaningful digital experiences with our e-commerce product sites, all the while supported by our designers and back-end developers who will build it if it can be imagined.

This position is an opportunity to get international training and has potential for travel to our global offices. We love what we do, and we want a front-end developer who shares our passion.

Key Responsibilities:

Build reusable components/modules for websites with responsive design;
Work with API endpoints for dynamic content updating;
Ensure UI/UX of developed pages with near pixel-perfect design;
Develop and optimize front-end UI to ensure the application is rendered consistently in cross-browser environments.

Requirements

Your Skills and Experience

Must have:

Solid understanding of native Javascript es5 & es6+;
Knowledge with code Split testing and CMS.
Knowledge with HTML5, CSS3;
Solid knowledge of modern web development technologies & framework based on JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JQuery Bootstrap; CSS animation/transition, DOM.
Developing responsive layouts leveraging CSS and media queries;
Design and implement robust client-side solutions with RESTful API;
Strong competency in responsive, mobile-first layouts leveraging CSS and media queries;
Solid understanding of object oriented programming modeling;
Familiarity with Linux & MacOS development environment;
Deep understand of web performance;
Experience in grunt, gulp, webpack, Babel, ReuqireJS, CommonJS, Browserify …;
Knowledge about realtime with websocket;
Understand about HTTP2;

Nice to have:

Knowledge about MongoDB, VueJS
Basic communication in English

Soft skills:

Strong attention to detail, and be able to write optimized, clean, and fast cross-browser front-end code;
Ability to follow good coding conventions, design patterns to develop clean and maintainable project with large and complex code bases.
Team-oriented, results-based attitude and work ethic;
Able to work with limited supervision in a startup-like environment, self-start, perform due diligence, and raise issues transparently.
