Devblock is looking for a senior, hands-on DevOps Lead to head our DevOps presence in Vietnam. In this role, you will serve as the senior DevOps point of contact locally— mentoring engineers, collaborating with project managers to scope and prioritize work, and driving technical excellence.

You will be expected to proactively assess infrastructure and operations, create roadmaps and goals, identify risks (especially around security and best practices), and communicate findings and progress clearly to leadership. This role requires someone who is deeply technical, highly organized, and comfortable leading both strategy and execution.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor DevOps engineers in the Vietnam team, fostering a culture of automation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Partner with project managers to scope, prioritize, and schedule DevOps tasks and infrastructure projects
Develop assessments, roadmaps, and goals for infrastructure, pipelines, and operations; identify risks and propose improvements, particularly around security and compliance
Manage your own time and your team’s time effectively; track and report on accomplishments, challenges, and progress to leadership
Collaborate with the global DevOps Lead to document, map, and improve infrastructure and pipelines
Design, implement, and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform, CloudFormation, and other infrastructure-as-code tools
Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar)
Set up and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog, New Relic)
Harden security and implement compliance best practices across environments
Automate operational processes wherever possible
Collaborate with development teams to support application deployment and performance
Participate in troubleshooting incidents and remediating root causes
Contribute to documentation of environments, runbooks, and SOPs

Requirements

Required Qualifications

8+ years of experience in a hands-on DevOps, Site Reliability Engineer, or Cloud Infrastructure role
Experience leading or mentoring DevOps engineers, with a track record of building and guiding high-performing teams
Proven ability to assess infrastructure, define goals and roadmaps, and identify risks—especially related to security and best practices
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage both personal and team workload, while consistently reporting progress and challenges to leadership
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Demonstrated fluency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills
Deep familiarity with AWS services, including EC2, VPC, IAM, ALB, RDS, S3, DocumentDb, Lambda, CloudWatch, and Route53
Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, especially using Terraform (Terraform Cloud or GitOps a plus)
Proficiency with at least one CI/CD system (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline)
Experience with Linux and/or Windows IIS administration and shell scripting
Working knowledge of container technologies and orchestration (e.g., ECS, EKS, or Fargate)
Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, New Relic, or CloudWatch
Comfortable working collaboratively in Git-based workflows
AWS certification (e.g. Solutions Architect Associate, DevOps Engineer)

Nice to Have

Maniacal curiosity about new technologies, tools, and systems, with a commitment to continuous learning
Enthusiasm about AWS best practices
Experience supporting client-facing environments in a consulting or agency environment
Knowledge of serverless technologies and architectures (API Gateway, DynamoDB, etc.)
Experience managing distributed or offshore DevOps teams
