Your role & responsibilities
  • Accounting & General Ledger Management:
    • Manage the end-to-end accounting cycle, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), fixed asset registry, and general ledger reconciliation.
    • Ensure timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions into the company's ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
    • Perform comprehensive bank and ledger reconciliations on a daily and monthly basis, promptly identifying and resolving discrepancies.
    • Prepare and process journal entries, ensuring supporting documentation is complete and compliant. 
  • Trade Finance & Treasury:
    • Oversee daily cash flow management and forecasting for the Dubai entity.
    • Liaise closely with banks to execute local and international fund transfers, manage currency exposures, and optimize banking relationships.
    • Process and monitor Trade Finance instruments, including Letters of Credit (LCs) and Bank Guarantees, ensuring documentation aligns with commercial contracts. 
    • Assist in monitoring working capital cycles, particularly inventory costing and movement, crucial for a commodity trading business. 
  • Financial Reporting & Compliance:
    • Assist the Finance Manager in preparing detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) under IFRS.
    • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of UAE VAT returns and related tax compliance documentation.
    • Coordinate and prepare schedules and documentation for internal and external audits.
    • Develop and maintain documentation for all accounting policies and procedures.

Your skills & qualifications
  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. Must have graduated with a distinction or high honors from a reputable university.
    • 1+ years of progressive experience in an accounting or finance role.
    • Preferred: Prior experience in the commodity trading, logistics, or chemical/petrochemical industry is highly desirable.
    • Preferred: Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CIMA is a strong advantage. 
  • Skills and Knowledge:
    • Strong theoretical knowledge of Accounting and Financial principles
    • Proficiency in MS Excel and general office software.
    • Fluent in English (all 4 skills), particularly professional writing and communication skills.
    • Ability to learn quickly, think logically, demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, and possess strong analytical skills.
