Business Analyst (BA) in the (FMCG) industry involves using data and business insights to help companies optimize operations, improve product performance, and drive growth. 

Responsibilities

  1. Data Analysis & Reporting
    • Analyze sales, marketing, supply chain, and customer data.
    • Monitor KPIs like product performance, market share, and customer behavior.
    • Use tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, or Tableau for data visualization.
  2. Market & Consumer Insights
    • Identify market trends and consumer preferences.
    • Support marketing and product teams with customer segmentation and targeting strategies.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and promotions.
  3. Demand & Sales Forecasting
    • Work closely with supply chain and sales teams to forecast demand.
    • Help ensure optimal inventory levels and reduce stockouts/overstocks.
  4. Business Strategy & Decision Support
    • Provide actionable insights to support strategic decisions.
    • Evaluate pricing strategies, product launches, and market entry initiatives.
    • Perform competitor and SWOT analyses.
  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Collaborate with departments such as sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain.
    • Translate business needs into technical requirements for Octopus teams.
  6. Process Improvement
    • Analyze existing business processes to identify inefficiencies.
    • Recommend and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Have more 2 years of experience in business analysis, strategy, or operations support roles (in FMCG preferred).
  • Strong analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in data tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI/Tableau).
  • Understanding of FMCG market dynamics.
  • Communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
