We are seeking motivated Accountants to join our team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Manager of Finance & Accounting BPO Department and working directly with Australian Accounting Firm (Goodland’s BPO client) and be responsible to ensure client work is completed accurately in a timely manner.

Previous experience in an Australian Accounting Firm or similar experience in providing outsourced accounting & taxation services to Australian Accounting Firm clients.

Your role & responsibilities

Accounting & Taxation 

  • Report to an experienced CA and clients (Australian tax agents) directly 
  • Collaborate with clients and team members to ensure client work is completed accurately in a timely manner
  • Prepare Financial Statements and Income Tax Returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and SMSFs
  • Prepare BAS, IAS, FBT, CGT and PAYG for a variety of companies and trusts
  • Prepare and deliver annual workers compensation and payroll tax reconciliations
  • Virtual CFO tasks for clients including payroll, accounts payable/ receivable, bookkeeping, bank reconciliations & coding and management reporting
  • Manage work planning, work procedures, workpapers and templates to ensure all responsibilities and deliverables are delivered accurately, high standard, and on-time for our clients
  • Help provide an exceptional service to our clients
  • Participate in training seminars, team meetings and social events
  • Conduct regular virtual client meetings

People

  • Offer support and cross-training to other team members

Other

  • Assist with the development and use of best practice policies, work procedures and tools that ensure that Goodland maintains strong fiscal management controls and practices
  • Completion of special projects, as required
  • Any other duties and ad-hoc tasks to ensure deliverables required of the Finance & Accounting BPO department are met as directed by the CEO, MD and direct report Manager.

Your skills & qualifications

Skills and knowledge

  • Proficient in English (IELTS 5 or above)
  • Ability to work, present and liaise with international professional clients
  • Strong knowledge of Australian accounting, taxation matters and financial reporting
  • Ability to work with accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, Handisoft, Class, BGL and similar
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to liaise with all levels of the business clients
  • Good organizational skills, with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
  • Good analytical skills
  • Attention to accuracy and detail
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to implement continuous improvement principles across Finance & Accounting BPO function
  • Remain accountable for tasks and activities assigned through to completion
  • Adherence to Goodland policies, operations procedures, processes and service standards
  • Ability to demonstrate and promote Goodland values.

Formal education:

  • Business/Accounting related degree essential
  • CA/CPA qualified or studying to

Experience:

  • Minimum 1-2 years previous experience in an Australian accounting firm environment or other similar outsourcing company
  • Strong Australian finance, accounting, tax operations experience
  • Outsourcing industry knowledge and experience
