Industrial Engineer (Routings) is responsible for developing, maintaining, and continuously improving production routings for both the Casegoods and Upholstery divisions. The ideal candidate will ensure routing accuracy to support effective costing, scheduling, and capacity planning.
Routing Maintenance – Casegoods Division:
- Maintain and update fabrication and assembly routings.
- Modify routings in response to:
- Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
- Process improvement initiatives
- Feedback from production and quality departments
- Validate labor standards and ensure accuracy of work content.
Routing Maintenance – Upholstery Division:
- Develop and maintain assembly routings specifically for New Product Introductions (NPIs).
- Adjust labor standards based on site-specific factors.
- Enter and verify routing data in the ERP system.
New Product Introductions (NPIs):
- Develop initial routings aligned with product designs and production plans.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and costing teams to ensure consistency.
Data Management & ERP Systems:
- Input and maintain routing information in the ERP system.
- Ensure data accuracy for cost estimation, production scheduling, and capacity planning.
- Support audits and data validation efforts.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with:
- Product Engineering
- Manufacturing Operations
- Costing & Finance
- Quality Assurance
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline routing and labor standard processes.
- Recommend and implement best practices for routing development.
- Support lean initiatives, including time and motion studies.
