Your role & responsibilities

1. Role Overview:

  • The Chief Healthcare Officer, accountable for defining and executing the company’s medical and clinical strategy in alignment with corporate strategy and long-term growth objectives.
  • This role ensures that medical governance, clinical excellence, and regulatory compliance are embedded across the organization, while positioning medical capabilities as a strategic driver of scale, reputation, and enterprise value.

 

2. Key Accountabilities:

A. Enterprise Strategy & Executive Leadership

  • Partner with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team to develop and execute the company’s long-term strategic plan.
  • Provide medical and strategic input into:
  • Corporate planning and budgeting
  • Market expansion and portfolio diversification
  • M&A, partnerships, and strategic investments (as applicable).
  • Contribute to sustainable growth, operational scalability, and long-term shareholder value.

 

B. Medical Strategy & Governance

  • Define and oversee the company-wide medical and clinical strategy, ensuring consistency, quality, and scalability across all business units and locations.
  • Establish and maintain robust medical governance frameworks, including:
  • Clinical policies and SOPs
  • Quality assurance and patient safety systems
  • Ethical standards and professional conduct.
  • Ensure full compliance with:
  • Ministry of Health regulations
  • Applicable international healthcare and laboratory standards (e.g. ISO, CAP, JCI roadmap).

 

C. Service Portfolio & Clinical Innovation

  • Provide executive oversight for the development and expansion of the company’s medical and clinical service portfolio.
  • Ensure services are clinically validated, operationally scalable, and commercially sustainable.
  • Guide medical innovation initiatives that enhance differentiation and competitive positioning.

 

D. Quality, Compliance & Risk Oversight

  • Maintain executive accountability for clinical quality, patient safety, and medical risk management.
  • Lead interactions with regulators, auditors, and accreditation bodies.
  • Oversee medical incident management, audit outcomes, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Act as the senior medical authority during critical incidents or regulatory matters.

 

E. Stakeholder Management & Representation

  • Represent the Group as a senior medical and strategic leader with:
  • Regulatory authorities
  • Strategic partners (hospitals, insurers, corporates)
  • Medical associations and key opinion leaders
  • Investors and Board members, as required.
  • Strengthen the Group’s medical reputation and institutional credibility.

 

F. Leadership, Talent & Organization Development

  • Lead and develop senior medical leadership and clinical management teams.
  • Ensure succession planning, capability building, and leadership continuity within the medical function.
  • Foster a culture of clinical excellence, accountability, and alignment with corporate objectives.

 

3. Key Success Measures:

  • Effective execution of the company’s medical and strategic priorities.
  • Consistent compliance and audit outcomes across the network.
  • Quality and patient safety performance at company level.
  • Successful scaling and performance of medical services.
  • Contribution to revenue growth, margin improvement, and enterprise valuation.

Your skills & qualifications

Education & Credentials

  • Medical Doctor (MD) with a valid practicing license.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in business or healthcare management (MBA, MHA, or equivalent) strongly preferred.

 

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in healthcare or medical services.
  • Proven leadership experience in senior medical or executive roles within:
  • Large healthcare organizations
  • Hospital groups
  • Diagnostic or healthcare service networks.
  • Demonstrated exposure to corporate governance, regulatory environments, and executive-level decision-making.
  • Experience working with Boards, investors, or multinational organizations is highly desirable.
