Vinatech Solutions is looking for a Junior Field Deployment Engineer to join our Technical Operations team. This is a hands-on role spanning three core areas: building and maintaining our CI/CD pipelines, servers, and infrastructure; deploying our Kubernetes-packaged software at customer sites; and maintaining those deployments throughout their lifecycle.

It is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career to build a strong foundation in DevOps, Kubernetes, and customer-facing field engineering, with mentorship and clear room to grow.

1
Your role & responsibilities
  • Assist with deploying the company's Kubernetes-packaged software into customer environments (on-premises or cloud).
  • Prepare for deployments by verifying prerequisites, gathering environment details, and following installation runbooks.
  • Install, configure, and validate software releases using tools such as Helm, kubectl, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Run smoke tests and basic verification to confirm deployments are healthy before handover.
  • Travel to customer sites as required to support installation and go-live activities.
  • Document each deployment and help improve deployment guides and checklists.
  • Monitor the health and performance of deployed software and respond to alerts.
  • Apply updates, patches, and version upgrades in line with maintenance schedules.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot incidents, coordinating with engineering teams on root-cause fixes.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as backups, log checks, and certificate renewals.
  • Keep runbooks, configuration records, and a knowledge base of common issues up to date.
  • Provide remote and occasional on-site support to customers during and, on a scheduled basis, outside standard hours.
  • Help build, configure, and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions) for automated build, test, and release.
  • Provision, configure, and maintain servers and infrastructure — Linux hosts, virtual machines, and cloud resources — used for builds, deployments, and internal services.
  • Maintain infrastructure-as-code, container registries, and artifact repositories that support the delivery pipeline.
  • Monitor pipeline and server health, manage backups and security updates, and keep build and infrastructure documentation current.

Your skills & qualifications

Required Qualifications

You don't need to tick every box. If you're early in your career and genuinely keen to learn, we'd love to hear from you. Ideally you'll bring:

  • Diploma or degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
  • 0–2 years of experience in IT support, system administration, DevOps, or a similar technical role (internships and project work count).
  • Working knowledge of Linux and basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls).
  • Familiarity with containers and Kubernetes concepts, or a strong willingness to learn quickly.
  • Some exposure to CI/CD pipelines, scripting (Bash or Python), or server administration — or a strong willingness to learn.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, with a friendly, customer-focused attitude.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites and, occasionally, work outside standard hours.

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • Network configuration skills — setting up and troubleshooting switches, routers, firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, and TCP/IP — to support customer-site connectivity during deployments.
  • Hands-on exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
  • Basic scripting in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+/Network+, ITIL Foundation, or Kubernetes CKA/CKAD.
  • A valid driver's license and/or passport for travel.

Key Competencies

  • Eager to learn and grow technically.
  • Methodical problem-solver who stays calm under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and good documentation habits.
  • Team player who communicates clearly with technical and non-technical people.
  • Reliable, organized, and able to manage competing priorities.
3
Benefits
  • Competitive salary, based on your skills and experience.
  • Mentorship and a clear path to grow into DevOps, SRE, or customer engineering roles.
  • Exposure to the full delivery lifecycle: customer deployments, maintenance, and production support.
  • Hands-on experience with a modern stack — Kubernetes, Helm, CI/CD, Linux, and cloud.
  • Direct mentorship from experienced DevOps and platform engineers, with genuine ownership and customer-facing impact early on.
