We're growing our team again and are looking for more devs to join us launching our new app to the world. We're looking for talented devs interested in working with a product company.

About Us

In 2004, MenuWise (called MyRecipes back then) rocked the food service industry with an app which enabled users to do things they previously could only dream of. We gave New Zealand's professional chefs the power to cost any recipe in just minutes, as well as know the nutriton - something which was prone to error, was difficult, and used to take a long time.

While we made headlines, and were in fact SAAS pioneers, we didn't think much of this. For us, it was just the beginning of a mission which had only just begun.

Fast forward 20 years, (gee! where did that go?!) with the support of our users who love our app, we're on a new mission to take this to the world using cutting edge tech to do things even smarter, easier and faster.

Who we are seeking

We are seeking a skilled Nest.js Developer proficient in TypeScript to join our dynamic team. You will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our server-side application using Nest.js.

Your role & responsibilities

Server-Side Logic: Develop all server-side logic, ensuring efficient data exchange between the server and users.
Database Management: Define and maintain the central database, optimizing performance and responsiveness.
Integration: Connect the application with other web services (open third-party) and seamlessly integrate front-end elements.
Performance Optimizaton: Focus on performance enhancements, security measures, and code quality maintenance.
API Development: Create robust APIs to support application functionality.
Testing and Debugging: Conduct meticulous testing and debugging to uphold application integrity.

Your skills & qualifications

Experience

Proficiency in TypeScript.
Database Knowledge: Excellent understanding of SQL particularly PostgreSQL.
RESTful APIs: Familiarity with RESTful API design and implementaon.
Version Control: Experience with code versioning tools (e.g., Git).
Front-end Familiarity: Basic knowledge of front-end technologies.
Server Deployment: Understanding of server deployment processes.
Experience with unit tests.
Basic understanding of Dev-Ops, particularly AWS
Search engine: eg Elastic search/ Typesense
English: we communicate in English and expect reasonable proficency to participate in standup etc. Great opportunity to improve your English.
