1. Strategic Leadership:

• Responsible for defining and developing a comprehensive strategic IT plan that is aligned to the organizational goals and objectives
• Responsible for spearheading the execution of IT solutions that are efficient, cost effective, and supports the organization’s business expansion plans
• Oversee the efficient management of the IT operations and ensures appropriate interactions between key functions (Sales, Logistic, Accounting and Finance)
• Oversee the annual budget exercise and work with the Finance/Controller where required
• Maintain knowledge of current industry best practices in IT management including identification, assessment, and implementation of best in class technology and infrastructure to support the business in the mid to long term

2. Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage PTG’s technology resources and ensures that the it works effectively and reliably
• Institute a discipline of continuous improvement providing recommendations to systems and infrastructure as required to meet current and future needs
• Ensure that problems in a multi-server environment are solved effectively and efficiently through a variety of software systems and applications
• Establish guidelines to the design specification of the network and technical installation and ensure that they are met
• Work with systems providers to ensure that technology resources work as required and that there is stability across platforms
• Ensure the efficient management of the operations of the networks and data operations centre and manage downtime (planned and unplanned), where required
• Oversee the fulfilment of customer service metrics and targets, ensuring that IT helpdesk team delivers consistent customer service
• Overall responsibility for the company-wide management and administration of end-user training for in-house system and software applications (e.g. ERP, DMS, WMS systems)
• Ensure that IT audits are performed and findings reported to the relevant parties as well as with Board of Management
• Ensure that the computer technology that PTG is using is secure by overseeing security efforts to prevent breaches from hackers, and to keep data and confidential information safe
• Ensure that systems and infrastructure environment are secure and up-to-date in order to protect the organization’s software and data assets, anticipating threats and mitigating risks
• Develop, justify, monitor and control IT operating and related budgets in order to ensure that the programme is effective and will meet planned goals and schedules
• Be involved in reviewing and advising division heads on contracts with vendors, including the setting of performance standards and contract administration to ensure compliance with organization wide performance standards for operating systems
• Oversee progress of key process improvement projects identified (e.g. with suppliers or within the Division) and monitors key milestones

3. Staff Management & Development:

• Identify the necessary skill sets required to meet business demands and ensure that recruitment, compensation and retention strategies are aligned to meet requirements.
• Review the performances of direct reports to ensure that individual and organizational targets are met
• Set and communicate performance targets for the staff to ensure alignment of the individual’s objectives to the corporate objectives.
