As we continue to scale, we are looking for a detail-oriented and results-driven Inventory Planning Specialist to join our fast-growing team. This role is integral to ensuring that our products are available to our customers without overstocking or understocking, ultimately optimizing our inventory and reducing costs.

The Inventory Planning Specialist will be responsible for managing and optimizing inventory levels across our product lines. This role requires expertise in production planning, stock arrival management, sales forecasting, and cost optimization. The ideal candidate will have strong data analysis skills, a deep understanding of e-commerce retail dynamics, and a proactive approach to solving inventory challenges.

Responsibilities

Production Planning:

  • Collaborate with the production team to develop and maintain accurate production schedules based on sales forecasts and market demand.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely production and delivery of products.

Stock Arrival & Management:

  • Monitor inbound shipments and manage stock arrival timelines to ensure products arrive on time.
  • Maintain a balance between stock levels and incoming orders, identifying potential stockouts or overstock situations.
  • Collaborate with logistics and warehouse teams to streamline stock receipt, storage, and inventory rotation.

Sales Planning & Forecasting:

  • Collaborate with the sales team to understand the sales forecast and product demand for each period.
  • Align stock arrival plans with sales and production plans to ensure products are available when needed.
  • Regularly track sales performance and adjust inventory plans to align with changing demand.

Inventory Cost Optimization:

  • Analyze inventory turnover and work to reduce holding costs by optimizing inventory levels.
  • Allocate orders to suppliers based on inventory levels and production timelines, ensuring that orders are placed in a way that maximizes pricing efficiency.
  • Work closely with suppliers to negotiate optimal pricing and terms, ensuring products are procured at competitive rates without compromising quality or availability.
  • Ensure that the order allocation process supports overall cost-saving strategies and aligns with inventory optimization goals.
  • Implement best practices to reduce storage, shipping, and inventory-related costs without compromising on product availability.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Utilize data analytics tools to track and report on inventory KPIs, including stock levels, order fulfillment rates, and inventory turnover.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management regarding inventory trends, sales forecasts, and supply chain improvements.
  • Use data-driven insights to optimize inventory purchasing and replenishment processes.

Cross-Department Collaboration:

  • Work closely with production team, sale team, merchandisers to ensure smooth coordination of inventory needs.
  • Advise the customer support team on fulfillment status and inventory updates to better support customer inquiries, ensuring they have accurate and timely information regarding order status and product availability.forts.
  • Provide regular reports on inventory status to ensure that inventory assets are aligned with the company’s financial goals and strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 3–5 years of experience in inventory planning, demand forecasting, or supply chain management, preferably in a D2C e-commerce or retail environment.
  • Proven experience working with cross-functional teams (sales, production, logistics, customer support) to align inventory with business objectives.
  • Strong Excel skills; experience with data analysis tools is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with demand forecasting models, supply planning techniques, and inventory optimization strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present data insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with an ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Growth mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
