Sugar Ventures is looking for a talented “Full stack Developer (RoR)”.
As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you enjoy working across the software stack to design, develop and deploy engaging experiences for mobile and web. We value strong engineers who are agile enough to jump into any project. Our full stack developers are capable of full cycle project leadership including application architecture, design input, site layout/user interface, database design/programming, and development. - Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices.
- Create site layout/user interface by using frontend technologies HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX, DOM.
- Ability to architect new schemas, as well as maintain and improve performance of existing ones. Integrate data from various back-end services and databases.
- Development of robust and user-friendly applications.
- Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs.
- Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities.
- Create and maintain software documentation.
- Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our applications.
- Alert colleagues to emerging technologies or applications and the opportunities to integrate them into operations and activities.
- Communicate to the Project Manager with efficiency and accuracy any progress and/or delays. Work closely with our talented Product, Design, and Engineering teams to design, build, and deliver products as per the requirement.
Your skills & qualifications
- At least 4-5 years proven working experience in Ruby on Rails.
- Working experience with following frameworks / technologies:
1. Ruby on Rails
2. HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX, DOM
3. Sass
4. JQuery / JQueryMobile
5. Web Services/REST
- Experience working with database systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL etc.
- Experience working with source control such as Github, GIT, Bitbucket, JIRA etc.
- A solid understanding of web application development processes, from the layout/user interface to database structures.
- Adequate knowledge of database systems, Object Oriented Programming and web application development
- Hands-on experience with network diagnostics, network analytics tools
- Knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation process
- Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem solving skills
- Strong organisational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets with business acumen
- Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques.
- Self-starter with strong self-management skills
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
